WALTER Hungerbuhler /International Business Development Advisor/ Walter has over 20 years of consulting experience across a variety of industries in Asia, and a strong entrepreneurial track record of building businesses throughout the region. Walter’s experience covers a range of sectors, including financial services, health care, Industry and logistics/supply chain. Over the past eight years, Walter was Managing Partner Greater China of Egon Zehnder, based in Beijing. Prior to this, he led Egon Zehnder’s Greater China Healthcare, Industry and Services practices from HK, leading engagements in executive search, post merger integration and talent assessment. He also advised a Mongolian conglomerate on CEO succession and talent strategy. Walter helped build McKinsey’s Consulting practice in Asia in late 1990s/early 2000s. Walter is currently based in Hong Kong, where he is the Founder of WAVE Asia Advisors, advising on Strategy and human resource. Walter earned an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, Evanston, IL. He also has an MS in Agronomy from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich.
ASHOK Kothari /Investment Management Advisor/ Ashok Kothari has extensive private equity experience as Managing Partner of Asia Pacific Capital. He managed both GE-APC Technology Fund and Asia Pacific Capital Fund II, sponsored by one of the largest global financial institutions. He is one of very few people in the world having extensive PE experience in both international and Mongolian market as he was the Director of Mongolia’s first PE fund – Mongolia Opportunities Fund, where he worked together with Bat-Erdene and Rentsendorj. In the past, Ashok has directed large, diversified, multi-unit, multi-country businesses of major American corporations. Ashok served as CEO of W.R. Grace (Asia Pacific) Ltd – a diversified Fortune 50 corporation with interests in sourcing and contract manufacturing, specialty and agricultural chemicals, natural resources, specialty retailing and restaurants, and health care with over 90,000 employees in over 45 countries. He also served as President of PPG Industries, Europe, Middle East and Africa, a region with over 8,000 employees and sales of over US$1 billion. PPG, formerly known as Pittsburg Plate Glass, is a Fortune 100 corporation, the largest building materials (glass and coatings) manufacturer with additional interests in specialty chemicals and health care, and an extensive presence in Europe. Ashok served as Chairman of the Supervisory Boards of over 20 subsidiaries including a number of joint ventures with Fiat. PPG also had large specialty chemicals and medical instrumentation operations in Europe under his leadership. He has hands-on experience in building value, and in executing very profitable LBOs, MBOs, privatizations, and IPOs. Earlier, he has also been a consultant with McKinsey & Co., and has worked with Deloitte & Touche, accountants, both in New York. Ashok serves on the board of Vision 2047 Foundation. He holds Responsible Officer (highest level) license for Asset Management from Securities and Futures Commission.
